Legendary German rockers The Scorpions are bringing their 50thanniversary tour to North America. The 11-city trek kicks off on September 10 in Boston and wraps up October 2 in Los Angeles. Guitarist Rudolf Schenker, who founded the group in 1965 when he was just 17, admits he’s surprised by the band’s longevity. “It’s really remarkable how well and mostly unharmed we’ve survived those years, in which our kind of music seemed to have gotten out of style completely,” he observes. “When the grunge wave hit the shore, we simply went to Asia to tap new markets and gain new fans. We were able to continue playing and keep on winning new friends for our music.” The group is touring behind their newly released studio album,Return to Forever.
